To the editor:
I find it interesting that, in another newspaper, there was an article that stated the city manager, Saeed Kazemi of Fort Myers, said his job was to negotiate on behalf of his city and Council, that if he had to call them in to negotiate for him, he was not doing his job.
I wish John Szerlag, city manager for Cape Coral, thought this way. Instead, he wants City Council and Burton Associates (which we pay for) to negotiate this water agreement for him. I am confused - what is our city manager's job? To hire Burton and Associates?
Our irrigation water is an ongoing problem, yet we only address it in the dry season. Shame on the mayor, city manager and Council for letting it come to this point. What any eyesore for this city.
