Truly Nolen makes donation

to local pet-related facilities

The dogs at Cape Veterinary Practice, Pet Coral and Kindness Animal Hospital are having a fun-filled end to their summer thanks to the good citizens of Truly Nolen in Cape Coral.

The Truly team recently brought supplies to the practices for their four-legged friends (and their owners) such as plastic flying disks, treats, T-shirts and towels for the veterinary team.

The team spent quality time with the dogs to celebrate Good Citizens Week a time where employees are encouraged to perform random acts of kindness for community members.

Truly Nolen of Cape Coral representatives Chuck Vanderhei, Jack Martin, Ken Kirtley, Sergia Martinez and Ron Lingle visited the practices to deliver the goods.

Brown named proprietor/general

manager at Monarca's

Arturo Brawn has been named the new proprietor/general manager at Monarca's Authentic Mexican Cuisine Bar & Grill in Cape Coral.

Originally from Mexico City, Brown has extensive experience in the level of high quality restaurants, for almost 15 years administering restaurants in different states. In Florida during the last 6 years, he was part of one of the most recognized Mexican restaurants, Cantina Laredo in Fort Myers.

Hayes promoted to operations

Roberts joins Physicians'

Primary Care of Southwest Florida

Rebecca G. Roberts has joined Physicians' Primary Care of Southwest Florida as a physicians assistant. She will assist physicians in the Cape Coral Family Practice office at 1255 Viscaya Parkway.

Roberts has 11 years experience as a physicians assistant with a background in endocrinology, dermatology and internal medicine. She also is a certified diabetes educator.

July passenger numbers up at RSW

During July, 496,472 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, an increase of 6.1 percent compared to July 2013. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 3.7 percent from the same period last year.

The traffic leader in July was Delta with 119,281 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Southwest (78,070), JetBlue (55,576), American (47,292) and AirTran (46,879).

Southwest Florida International Airport had 4,661 aircraft movements (takeoffs and landings), a decrease of 8.3 percent compared to July 2013. Page Field saw 7,388 movements, a 34.3 percent increase from July 2013. In addition, more than 2.5 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in July 2014, an increase of 8.8 percent compared to July 2013.

Todd, Dolan win PR awards

Ted A. Todd of Ted Todd Insurance Agency and Gail M. Dolan of Dolan Marketing Services earned two statewide awards from the Florida Public Relations Association for excellence in printed tools of public relations.

The Award of Distinction and a Judges' Award were presented at FPRA's 57th Annual Golden Image Awards program at the Wyndham Grande Orlando Resort at Bonnet Creek for thei 2013 Business Ethics Award Application to the Uncommon Friends Foundation on behalf of the Ted Todd Insurance Agency. earns FPRA award

The Florida Public Relations Associa-tion awarded Laura Puerto, APR, senior public relations specialist at Lee County Electric Cooperative, with the distinguished Doris Fleischman Unsung Hero Award at its 76th Annual Conference in Orlando on Aug. 12. The award honors the heretofore unrecognized contributions an individual FPRA member has made to the public relations profession and the organization.

Puerto has served as the senior public relations specialist at LCEC for the past 11 years.

The Doris Fleischman Award was established to honor the achievements and contributions of Doris Fleischman, business partner and wife of Edward L. Bernays, the "father" of public relations. In essence, this is an "unsung" hero award, intended to reward that individual who consistently provides support and assistance to the organization.

The FPRA was founded in 1938 and is the oldest public relations organization in the United States. FPRA is dedicated to developing public relations practitioners who, through ethical and standardized practices, enhance the public relations profession in Florida. for safety efforts by FPA

The Federal Aviation Administration Southern Region Airports Division honored Page Field with its 2013 General Aviation Airport Safety Award. This award is given annually to a general aviation airport that has taken actions, instituted programs or otherwise operated in a manner deserving of special recognition for improving airport safety.

Some of 2013 initiatives to promote and improve airport safety included the construction of an Airport Perimeter Road, which allowed operations and service vehicles access to various portions of the airport while reducing the need to operate on active runways and taxiways; providing a Professional Line Service Training program with an emphasis on safe procedures and policies for ground handling and fueling personnel; conducting Safety Risk Assessments to identify potential airfield hazards; and adopting a safety checklist for Aviation Day, a community event hosted by the Lee County Port Authority to promote airports and aviation in Southwest Florida.
