Mary Ann (Schmutte) Wilson, 88, of Cape Coral, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014.
She was born Sept. 8, 1925, in Indianapolis, to George and Marie Schmutte.
She was the widow of Ralph J. (Woody) Wilson, who preceded her in death in 1979.
She is survived by her children, Vicki (Jim) Frazee, Tim (Lynne) Wilson Sr. and Connie (Dana) Owens; grandchildren,Tim (Rhonda) Jr., Heidi (Justin) Matheny, Amanda Owens, Mike Frazee and Brianna Owens; and great-grandchildren, Jaden Mahron and Andrew Wilson. Also left to cherish her memory are her sister, Patricia Unger; brother, George (Sandy) Schmutte; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Carr Ford.
Mary and Ralph (Woody) were married Aug. 5, 1950, in Indianapolis, and went on to raise their family there. She worked several jobs and was a homemaker for the family while Woody had a career at General Motors. In 1975, upon Woody's retirement, they moved to the then small town of Cape Coral. They worked together as property managers for several rental and condo units in the area.
A viewing and visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., today, May 2, at Fuller Metz Funeral Home, 3740 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral. A celebration of Mary's life will take place at the funeral home 1 p.m., Saturday, May 3, with interment to follow at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Myers
