Election Nov. 5, 2013 is done and gone. Total registered voters in Cape Coral 107,777 according to Lee County Elections, total of registered voters, "voted" in Cape Coral 18,322 plus or minus or 17 percent.
John Sullivan lost by 113 votes. If you didn't vote, don't complain. If you did vote, now is the time to hold the new elected officials to their promises to the citizens of Cape Coral. We can only look forward.
To the new elected, Mayor Ms. Marni Sawicki, and council members, Jim Burch, Richard Leon, and Rick Williams, congratulations to all. Everyone made campaign promises to all the citizens in the Cape. Not just to a certain group of special interest groups and you represent all citizens in Cape Coral.
For the next four years, you promised to move our city forward. I, for one, will follow the new elected officials to see if they are being the best and putting efforts to have the best city we can obtain.
I will follow their plans to move our city forward, that they are good stewards of our tax dollars by paying our city debt down first to have sustainability and accountability in our city finance and management. I want to see how they market and promote our natural waterways and resources for the brighter future they promised.
All the candidates made a lot of promises to the citizens of Cape Coral, now let's see them get to the hard work in making the City of Cape Coral the best city it can be. I challenge you!!!!!!!!!
