More fees & taxes for residents, thanks to council & city manager

October 4, 2013
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

To the editor:

Now we get to pay a 7 percent increase in our electric bills, we also get a raise in our tax bill, and a increase in the fire rate or assessment.

This City Council and city manager, however, do not have a problem with a raise for city workers or giving the police chief a nice pension pay out? And what do we get from city hall -a nice tax increase. Also we never got a refund on stormwater fees which, under state law, was to go back to ratepayers. Thank your city council for that move.

And some people who are interested in positions on the city council want to get along with these people? Why, so we can get a 14 percent increase next time in our electric bill?

If you shop in Cape Coral do you think the business owners are not going to pass this increase on to you if you buy in the Cape?

So you can thank your city manager for this increase and his friends on the city council.

Hope you can remember all this election day.
