Wendell Allen Oxley, 72. of Cape Coral, formerly of Greenwood, Ind., passed away Friday, July 19, 2013, due to NHL cancer.
He was born in Ashland, Ky., Oct. 26, 1940. He did not graduate from high school in order to begin work to support his family.
He became a Teamster and worked as a diesel mechanic for Renner's Express and ANR trucking companies. He proudly started his own successful business called Truck Experts located on SR 37 in Indianapolis. After his retirement, he enjoyed yard work with a knack of keeping the best lawn in the neighborhood, do-it-yourself home improvement projects, golfing, and fishing for tarpon, red snapper, brown trout, snook, sharks and largemouth bass.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Bill) Oxley Radez; sisters, Mona (Don) Elkins, Linda (Roger) Hutchison, Palma Oxley and Dawn (John) Church; his brother, Edward (Bev) Oxley; grandson, Joseph Wendell Droter; and other family and friends.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Amin and St. Vincent Hospice for their professional services.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, 481 West Main St., Greenwood, Friday, July 26, with the funeral service starting at 1 p.m. Chaplain Beth Muehlhausen will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
