To the editor:
I visit the Jaycee Park off Beach Parkway almost every day and always appreciate the open space and natural environment.
The owls who live at the park are a constant source of joy but today my joy was squashed when a huge street sweeper "brushed" through the park spewing dust, debris and truck exhaust into the usually clean air and onto visitors. What's worse is this truck seemed to be just passing time since he did not cover the entire park. I felt like I was watching a Republican in Congress because what this man was doing in the park made absolutely no sense.
The Cape must have more money than it knows what to do with because I can't come up with any logical reason to "street sweep" the park. I can't see any need for street sweeping at all. What a waste of money.
I would like the Cape to publish a schedule for this unnecessary street sweeping so I can avoid the park on those days. All this obnoxious sweeper was doing was stirring up street filth and spewing it at inhabitants!
Get it together Cape or we won't "Keep it in the Cape!"
