Debra Kay Gnegy, 56, a Lee County resident since 1971, formerly of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, passed away Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, in Cape Coral. She was born May 6, 1956, in Mt. Vernon.

Debbie was a member of Cape Christian Fellowship. She graduated from Fort Myers High School in 1972 and then attended Piedmont Bible College in North Carolina. She was employed by Lee Memorial Health System for a total of 21 years and was an active member and conference chairman of Health Management Association for the last 17 years. She was very dedicated to her church where she served as wedding coordinator and assisted with vacation bible school. She had a very strong relationship with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ and was passionate about spreading his word. Her unconditional love, support and tireless dedication for her family was her best attribute.

She loved to cook and bake for everyone, she was especially known for her birthday cakes. She was a loving and caring person with a smile for everyone she met.

She is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, Milton Gnegy, and pets of Cape Coral; her mother, Nancy Poland of Fort Myers; four children, Jason (Teresa) McGillicuddy of Cape Coral, Jared McGillicuddy, Tamra (Joshua) Martin of Cape Coral and Amber (Matthew) Frommelt Matthew, also of Cape Coral; two step-children, Scott Gnegy and Tiffany Bradford, both of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Brenda (Mike) Townsend of Clewiston; a brother, James Poland of Winter Park, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, Kayla Pierce, Beau Ferguson, Skyler McGillicuddy, David Martin, Aaliyah Martin, Aliviyah Martin, Nathan Martin and Sydney, Dakota, Katie and Justin Bradford; as well as two great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Liam Pierce.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Poland.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 9, at Cape Christian Fellowship, 2110 Chiquita Blvd., Cape Coral, FL 33991. There will be a reception immediately following the service at Lake Kennedy Center, 400 Santa Barbara Blvd. All who knew her is welcome.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Cape Christian Fellowship Building Fund or the America Cancer Society, 4575 Via Royale, Fort Myers, FL 33919.
