Philip E. O'Donnell of Cape Coral passed away peacefully in Hope Hospice Nov. 1, 2012, after a long battle with multiple myeloma. He was born in Mattoon, Ill., March 4, 1936, a son of Cornelius Edmond O'Donnell and Mary Rose Linkonis. He was a graduate of the Mechanical Engineering School at University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, a veteran of the United States Air Force and a graduate of Tilden Tech, class of 54 in Chicago.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two children, son, John (Kelly), daughter, Colleen (Chris); two stepchildren, Tracy Lopus and Bradleigh Simpson; and six grandchildren; one brother, Tom (Hedy); and sister-in-law, Nancy; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was honored with a Color Guard ceremony at Hope Hospice which was very moving and much appreciated by his family, we thank you !
