Switch: As usual totally off base with the argument about the last fire chief who left. There were many issues there apparently. All of your other questions have been, and you know this, been answered a number of times. Move on instead of the constant harang and negativity. Have a wonderful holiday.

I agree with you 100%. I would also like to add the question as to why the City Of Cape Coral, Florida has a Fire Department to handle 73% of its fire calls which are medical emergencies and not fires?

Why are we wearing out apparatus used for fire fighting instead of vehicles that would cost less to purchase and maintain. Why are we sending out a greater number of employees and multiple pieces of equipment? Why has this information been known for decades and change not6 been enacted in the Fire Department? If Lee County is providing the city with EMT service why are we not getting the amount really necessary from the county? Are we overpaying for duplication or lack of service from Lee County? I wonder if the Fire Chief who came saw some of the same things. City Manager Szerlag didn't say BOO after he left.
