Too many Progressive socialists on the city council. Just wait till you see the new taxes, levies and assessments come down the pike. People just don't learn.

This election was won by the employees of cape coral. The poor tax payers will be blasted with new taxes and new projects. It is their fault for not turning out and voting. If you don't vote you can't complain.

1) City Employees for the most part, are cape coral residents. Thus, like you, taxpayers. Does that hurt your head to comprehend this? 2) A lot of voters who cared to come our were like me, NON employee, NON union. Again, does that hurt your head to comprehend. Deal with it. Like it or not, we have a council and mayor now who aren't beholden to some stupid contract. Biggest mistake in the Cape is gone..bye bye bye Road Ahead Group/Gang.

I am ready to support the first raise in 6 years for our employees. They gave back when it hit the fan so now things are better they earned a raise. And yes the majority are taxpayers and probably pay more on average than most residents.

The city employees already get paid almost twice what a person in the private sector does for the same job, plus medical and retirement benefits. All paid by our tax dollars. no they don't deserve a raise when everyone else has to do with less. They should get their salaries cut to the same level as the private sector.

88,000 registered voters have lost faith in local government. That is the concerning message of this election.

"The city employees already get paid almost twice what a person in the private sector does for the same job, plus medical and retirement benefits." Nonevernono that is just a blatant lie and you know it. Why don't you just admit the only reason you and the rest of the rag loser's got into office in the first place was do to an agenda based on lies and innuendo. Once in office the truth came out and your house of cards began to collapse. The end result was total rejection of all that you and the rags stood (lied) for. Just go away!

Here is one "Progressive Socialists (a.k.a. liberal Democrats) are like pig farmers. In an effort to bury opposing viewpoints they sling pejorative slop, labeling as “bigot,” “hater,” “wingnut” or “racist” those with whom they disagree. It’s the height of intellectual sloth.

Nonevernono It's rich coming from you to be labeled as an intellectual sloth especially because in your own letter you are ripping on people who label others! Pot meet kettle! In fact thank you! Intellectual sloth has a nice ring to it! And it places me eons ahead of you in the evolutionary chain!

Well, the nay sayers known as Sullivan Deile, et al filed suit today about the elections. Leetz brought the FBI into City Hall re: the land sale. They made promises in the past like some on these formats, they will bring the City to its knees and enjoy doing it. Hope they sell their houses, before, not try after. Oh well, Leetz won't have to worry about his house. It's up for foreclosure again.

I hope the new members of the council are not tax and spenders and I hope they know they work for the citizens not the city unions and will make good choices and not cry we inherited this mess form the old members and work to keep costs down and not bow to the unions and city manager.
