#1 Komen did not promise to continue funding PP--only meet current grants. #2 If Brinker was sincere, she would have fired Handal. She did not. The "reversal" was smoke cover to retreat and regroup so Komen's ongoing anti-abortion fight can be continued. My donations still go directly to PP.
It's too bad that 98% of the people in this country are so ill-informed. This Komen-PP debacle is NOT about abortion or birth control or right wing nut cases or pro-choice. It's about controlling women and the steady, ongoing, frightening, unadulterated erosion and revocation of women's rights. Women are not paid the same as men; they don't get promoted on the same time schedule as men; it's still considered amazing that as many women as men attend college; smart, capable women are considered a threat to men whose abilities are lesser - need I continue? Seeing women fighting women over something so essential and basic as the right to make decisions about their own health care is almost too painful to watch. Enough. This must stop. Now.
