Has absolutely nothing to do with the house numbers, every home that I see either has the number prominently displayed on the house or the mail box. It Is ineptitude that is the problem.
In looking into police volunteers I found for instance the state of California utilizes volunteers in many of their county and city police departments. California: San Diego, Anaheim, San Jose, Los Angeles, Fresno, San Francisco, Riverside, Sacramento, San Clemente, Long Beach, Oakland, and Santa Clara. There are more there of lesser known cities. I also looked up a few in Florida as well. Fort Pierce, St. Lucie, Clear Water and their are more. Those or other states I will leave for the people that think we would promote a "wild west atmosphere" here. It is also interesting the city website for our police department states it is comprised of: 256 sworn officers 133 civilians 100 volunteers Nearly 500 personnel making up most of the $34 million budget. The Breeze poll is running heavily toward a concern for property crime. Reminds me of the presence of take home cars in the driveway!
In reply to djraal I'd like to point out that the Keystone Cops remark is a reality due to the fact that there are lots of houses all over town that don't have house numbers displayed on them. I see it all over town. Isn't there some law or ordinance that house numbers are required???? If so, someone needs to get busy and strictly enforce it. I have highly visible 6 inch numbers on my place, and yet I have neighbors who have nothing.
I am more worried about the city government stealing from me with the continued hikes in taxes and fee's that they do not do anything for, than other criminals. I got a dog and a gun that will take care of our safety better than anything else. We recently observed the cops and fire department going in circles in our neighborhood because they could not find the place they where supposed to be going too, ''it looked like the Keystone Cops were on the loose'', When it come to a real emergency you are on your own, so be prepared don't rely on any one else. That is the truth.
