It's nice at the top
In the current climate of salary cuts within city government it has gone without fanfare that there are those in upper management positions who have actually just been blessed with a raise in pay. It seems the rich continue to get richer, while the underlings have a hand reaching into their pocket taking more money out. How can anyone in good conscience ask for employees to give up additional cuts of any kind when there are raises being awarded to the top tier running certain city departments? Where is the sense of fair play here? The reason given for the raises was added responsibility taken on by certain individuals, isn't this what every employee has been doing for the past few years? The deck is stacked and they are also dealing from the bottom. The insanity has got to stop. Where is the outrage from the dais regarding this most recent awarding of raises. Who ok'd the raises? All valid questions that need to be answered.
