Irene Stella Drobinski, 89, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2020 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida surrounded by love and family. She would have celebrated her 90th year of life on January 24, 2020.

Irene lead a purpose driven life helping her family, friends, and neighbors. She had been an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, Altar Guild, Treasurer of their Widow's Group, and always willing to provide compassion and transportation to the elderly. She was a standout member of CURVES Fitness Center and later Women's Total Fitness enjoying her regular exercise. She spent her career as an Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeper employed at Certified Slings and Bucket Mart, Inc. in Ft. Myers, Florida until her retirement. Her hobbies included gardening, bicycling, and homemaking.

Born in St. Paul, Minnesota Irene has called Florida her home since 1972. She is preceded in death by her mother Frieda (Handt-Ehman) and father John Mieloch and beloved husband George A. Drobinski, a St. Paul Fireman who passed in 1967; sisters Jean, Betty, Lois and her brother Frank. Her sisters Kathy, Roxanne, Sharon, and brother Harvey remain close as family as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was a devoted and loving mother to her two children Heidi (Keith) Van Waus of Cape Coral and son George R. (Angela) Drobinski of Naples, Florida. Her abundant love was bestowed to her granddaughter Lisa (Jason) Sciandra and great grandchildren Aurelia, Giavonna, Carina, Lyla, and grandson Mark (Kim) Van Waus and great granddaughter Alyssa.

Irene was known for her strength, perseverance, work ethic and she was an inspiration of faith and character.

Memorial Gathering and Service will be at Fuller Metz Funeral Home, 3740 Del Prado Boulevard, Cape Coral, Florida, 33904 on Friday January 24, 2020. The Memorial Gathering will be from 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM. Memorial Prayer Service will begin at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida or Christ Lutheran Church, Phoenix Fund.
