starts Feb. 10 in Cape Coral

Individuals who are thinking about starting their own business but need some mentoring are invited to apply to the Goodwill Southwest Florida MicroEnterprise Institute, scheduled for Feb. 10 March 19.

The MicroEnterprise Institute is a six-week training program to help emerging entrepreneurs start new ventures and grow small businesses. Graduates complete a comprehensive training course and prepare a solid feasibility plan. They work with mentors who are successful businesspeople, and hear from subject matter experts in areas of accounting, legal, marketing, insurance and funding.

Classes are scheduled from 6-9 p.m. on Monday and Thursday evenings at the Public Works Building, 815 Nicholas Parkway East, Cape Coral, FL 33990.

Recent program graduate, Michael Morrill, owner of Stars & Stripes Landscaping said, "This is a priceless course that every business owner should take."

The course ends March 19 with a graduation ceremony.

Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls

to hold grand opening Wednesday

Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls will host a grand opening event Wednesday, Jan. 15, to celebrate its newest location in Fort Myers' Downtown Historic District. In addition to enjoying Mason's authentic lobster rolls, bisque and other offerings at the event, attendees can also enter to win free lobster for a year. The grand opening event will kick-off at 11 a.m.

Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls has been highlighting a new crustacean south of the Mason-Dixon since opening its flagship Annapolis, Maryland, location in 2014. Since then, the rapidly-expanding fast-casual franchise has made lobster-lovers out of seafood fans by opening three additional locations in Maryland, as well as Charleston, S.C., Reston, Va., Rehoboth Beach, Del. and Raleigh, N.C. The Fort Myers location is Mason's ninth restaurant, soon to be followed by locations in Miami and Washington, D.C.

One winner will receive a "Free Lobster for a Year" voucher, entitling the holder to one free lobster roll per week for one calendar year from the date of issuance.

Richmond elected stockholder

at Henderson Franklin firm
