Make learning hands-on

August 23, 2019

To the editor:

Knowledge needs to start in a child's hand, if you want it to stay in their mind.

So many times parents and care givers get frustrated by their children seemingly not absorbing what they are attempting to teach. Children need an experience to attach to the information.

For instance teaching about evaporation by outlining a puddle. Also, cutting an apple to examine, taste, and then even paint with it. Instead of showing a picture of it. Hands on learning is highly effective.

May I suggest that you give it a try.
