Support workshops for family caregivers in Cape

The Area Agency on Aging for South-west Florida is partnering with Home Instead Senior Care to offer a free six-week program, Powerful Tools for Caregivers in Cape Coral. The six-week workshop starts May 23 and continues through June 27. The class is designed to help family caregivers take care of themselves while also caring for a loved one with an illness or disability.

Class size is limited and advance registration is required. Workshops will be presented on six consecutive Thursdays from 10-11:30 a.m. at Home Instead Senior Care, 1505 S.E. 40th St, Suite C, Cape Coral.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an evidence-based program that has been shown to improve self-care, reduce emotional strain and increase confidence among participants. Workshop attendees also learn about community resources that may provide additional assistance. The Cape Coral workshops are led by two certified Powerful Tools for Caregivers class leaders.
