Whitewash of justice

April 5, 2019

To the editor:

We find the Democrat demand to prove collusion between President Trump and Russia unfounded after years of investigation and millions of taxpayers dollars in the Mueller investigation report.

Yet, we see this unprecedented failure to prosecute of Jussie Smollett's 16 felonies by Kim Foxx's Cook County State Attorney's Office despite the adequately substantiated and well-founded evidence. Although, DA Foxx defended her office's decision not to prosecute, we find she recused herself because she was connected to a relative of Smollett through Tina Tchen, former Michelle Obama's one time Chief-of-Staff and Cook County Democratic fundraiser.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel stated, "that dropping the charges against Smollett was a whitewash of justice." Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson also slammed prosecutors for dropping these charges.

DA Foxx's former Top Deputy, Eric Sussman stated, "he was shocked by the outcome, calling it an unprecedented move by the State Attorney's Office.

In presenting the above, I can only leave the opinion in this case up to you on whether justice was served. Could this outcome be interpreted as having been colluded along the way? The decision to investigate is now in the hands of the FBI and DOJ.
