Political ‘polls’ are fake news

February 1, 2019
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

To the editor:

I have an email chain with more then 6,400 addresses which equates to in excess of 15,000 individuals. Neither I nor any member of the group has ever received a political poll questionnaire, requesting issue opinions. As a result, we believe that there is no polling. Instead, disingenuous wise-guys parade before us "fake news" - and they call it polling results.

They've made a lucrative industry out of bogus reporting.

What we have here is deliberate misleading and worthless data, designed to create a false picture and interfere with elections. In the future, any poll that is reported by the media should have along with it; 1) how many people were questioned. 2) where it was taken. 3) and what was the political persuasion of the participants. Without this information the media should disregard what is nothing more than worthless and absolute fake news.
