A woman for president

February 1, 2019
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

To the editor:

It is time to elect a woman as President of the United States.

Women are peace makers in their relationships. Women manage conflict within the family structure. They seek consensus and compromise and peaceful solutions. As nurturers, women put the needs of others first, before themselves.

Women are much less violent than men. The Federal Bureau of Prisons statistics from November 2018, illustrates that, by gender, 93 percent of men versus 7 percent of women are imprisoned.

According to Psychology Today, men perpetrate 90 percent of the world's homicides and start all of the wars. Men still hold most of the power in the world, and it is no surprise then, that they perpetrate most of the violence. One could surmise that if more women were in major positions of power worldwide, there would be fewer wars.

The Council of Graduate Schools has published statistics for 2017 indicating that women have received, on average, 15 percent more Masters Degrees than men -similarly for Doctoral degrees. Women received 23 percent more Masters Degrees in Social and Behavioral Sciences than men.

Unless you're a misogynist, an educated female is the best bet for President in 2020.
