LCSO: Gas station clerk charged with making false report, working with robbery suspect??

Just after midnight today, Nov. 21, Lee County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to a just occurred robbery at the Murphy's Gas Station located on Pine Island Road in North Fort Myers.

According to the LCSO report, deputies quickly converged on the gas station making contact with the cashier, Cheyenne Williams, 24, who stated that a male wearing all dark clothes approached her demanding cigarette cartons, scratch off tickets and cash. An ensuing K9 track led deputies to the location of Keith Cooper, 22, and two cartons of Newport cigarettes.

Major Crimes Detectives assumed the investigation and subsequent questioning of Williams gave detectives the impression that Williams might be involved in the robbery, the LCSO reported

Based on the investigation in its entirety, probable cause was established to charge Williams and Cooper for the robbery of the business without a weapon.
