Broadway Palm to hold auditions Sept. 15 for ‘ELF The Musical’

Young male actors needed to play role of 12-year-old Michael Hobbs

The Broadway Palm is holding open children's auditions for the upcoming production of "ELF The Musical" on Saturday, Sept. 15, at 11 a.m. Auditions are on a first-come, first-served basis. A sign-up sheet will be available at 10:30 a.m. No appointments will be taken.

"ELF The Musical," plays Nov. 22 Dec. 25.

The following is the role available:

A young male actor to play Michael Hobbs, the 12-year-old son of Walter and Emily. Must be a strong singer and actor. Vocal range: Top D5 / Bottom G3.

Anyone interested in auditioning should bring a current headshot/picture and resume. Those auditioning need to be prepared to sing 16 bars that best show off your vocal range. Please bring sheet music in the proper key, an accompanist will be provided (no recorded music is accepted.) Songs should be in the musical theatre genre.

Broadway Palm is a professional theatre. Productions require a two-week rehearsal process. Performances are Tuesday through Sunday evenings with selected matinees on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Broadway Palm will do its best to work around school hours during the rehearsal process with the exception of tech days from Nov. 19-21.

The role will be double cast and children will alternate performances.
