Island Coast bowlers sweep Cypress Lake

Both the Island Coast boys and girls bowling teams defeated Cy-press Lake Tuesday afternoon at Gator Lanes.

The Gator boys pitched a shut-out against the Panthers, 5-0. Tyler Mcphee rolled a 173 and Freddy Pearson a 144 to lead Island Coast to a 675 total. Josh Toston added a 136, TJ Rucker a 122 and Mark McCullough a 100.

In the match, Cypress Lake totaled a 619, with Jeffery Lockman rolling a 150, Mark Boyle a 132, Brenden Dick a 129, Jack Ciano a 124 and Thomas Kendall an 84.

Island Coast is now 3-0 on the year while Cypress Lake falls to 0-2.

In the girls' game, Island Coast won 4-1 tallying a 563. Cypress Lake finished with a 523.

Denver Boxleitner tossed a 156, Abby Miller a 142, Taylor Fabrizzi a 98, Victoria Traeger a 95 and Gabby Mcgregor/Patty Smith a 72.

For Cypress Lake, Amanda Kiang finished with a 130, Ashley Walters a 107, Isabella Williamson a 103, Carsyn Davis a 100 and Brianna Strunk an 83

The Gator girls are now 3-0 while the Panthers are 1-1



Oasis Invitational: The Oasis Sharks (5-1) defeated Ida Baker 2-1 (25-22, 18-25, 20-18) in the championship match of the Oasis Invitational tournament. Ida Baker (4-4) defeated Cape Coral (3-3) 2-0 (25-16, 25-22) and Immokalee (3-3) 2-0 (25-10, 25-18) to reach the final.

Cross country

Cape Coral: Cheyenne Young came in first in the Sommer DDD Invitational at Estero High School. Young set a new personal best time of 18:28. Teammate Kelsey Miskimins was fourth (personal best 19:53) as the Seahawks finished fourth as a team.
