Lemon Bay wears down Ida Baker in 3-1 volleyball victory

Playing their second match in as many nights Tuesday, the Bulldogs wore down in the fourth game of a 25-23, 25-23, 22-25, 25-18 loss in Ida Baker's District 7A-10 opener.

Baker staged a dramatic rally to win the third game, rallying from 16-11 down to win 25-22. The Bulldogs, however, tired as the match went on, and were hampered by 20 service errors on the night.

Caitlyn Cindrich led Ida Baker (2-2, 0-1) with 11 kills. Jillian Lutsky and Kearsten Arends had nine kills each. Libero Marissa Marsullo had 19 digs and Jensen Diggs had nine digs.

Caroline Hill had 15 kills and 17 digs to lead Lemon Bay (2-2, 1-0).

Volleyball

Port Charlotte 3, Cape Coral 0: The Seahawks dropped their opener in District 7A-10 at Port Charlotte by a 25-14, 25-14, 25-11 score. Cape fell to 2-1, 0-1, while the Pirates remained unbeaten at 4-0, 1-0.

Oasis 3, South Fort Myers 0: The Sharks (4-0) swept the Wolfpack 25-21, 26-24, 25-15 at South Fort Myers (0-3) in a non-district contest.

North Fort Myers 3, Island Coast 0: North (4-0, 1-0) dominated in a District 7A-10 match, 25-12, 25-5, 25-0 against Island Coast (0-3, 0-1).

Bowling

Mariner sweeps Bonita Springs: Both the boys and girls Tritons bowlers were victorious over Bonita Springs n the first match of the year. The girls won their match 4-1 and were led by Ramona Baker's high game of 151. The boys won 5-0 with a balanced attack led by Jayme Kenyon's 162.
