Cape Coral 26, South Fort Myers 25: The Seahawks came out on top in a wild finish Saturday morning in their rain-delayed season opener at Cape Coral High School.

On fourth and 7, Seahawks quarterback Parker O'Dell connected with Jayden Feliz for a 34-yard touchdown pass with 2:23 to play. O'Dell hit Adrien Canty for a two-point conversion, which turned out to be huge.

The Wolfpack got a 6-yard TD run from Freddie Ward with 1:06 to play, but couldn't make the conversion. Cape covered South's onside kick attempt and held on for the one-point victory.

Ward's 2-yard run in the third quarter had put South ahead 19-18 after a 1-yard Canty run had given Cape the lead. It was Canty's second 1-yard TD of the game.

South led early 12-0, but Canty's first score after a Wolfpack fumble and a 75-yard fumble recovery TD by Cape Coral's Ben Haywood evened the score at 12 by halftime.

New Cape coach Dale More got a victory in his official debut.
