Water conditions

August 3, 2018
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

To the editors:

Watching our latest water conditions and its affect on full time/seasonal residents, visitors, businesses and our marine life, it's apparent we've reached a point where now, more than ever, we need our community to unite.

Often, pointing fingers and trying to place blame may make us feel better and that our voice is being heard, but rarely does it fix a situation.

Not one single source: person, organization, business or Mother Nature is to blame for this disaster, and not one person, organization, business or Mother Nature can change it on their own.

It's going to take our collective community to rally together for a solution to make our community's voice be heard. We are fortunate to have a very unique community of people with different expertise and backgrounds. If we use this to our advantage, we may be able to make some headway for a long-term solution.

A single voice can be heard, but a community cannot be ignored.

We need to educate ourselves on the facts, become active by signing local petitions and contacting our representatives on every level. Let's let them know we are involved and invested in a solution for Fort Myers Beach and South Florida.
