Edge Yoga School of SWFL opens in Cape, teacher training to begin

Edge Yoga School of SWFL had opened in Cape Coral at 3818 Skyline Blvd. The yoga school is owned and operated by Niko Ana Burkhardt, ERYT-200

"We are an inclusive and supportive yoga community providing public classes, workshops and yoga alliance approved teacher training programs," Burkhardt said in the announcement of the business opening.

Priority Marketing appoints Breitenstein as media relations manager

Priority Marketing has announced that Dave Breitenstein has joined the team as media relations manager. In this role, he is responsible for supporting strategic media relations services and coordinating publicity strategies, campaigns and events for Priority Marketing's diverse range of clients.

Breitenstein has 20 years of experience in the media industry, having served as a journalist at two prominent local media outlets, The News-Press and Naples Daily News. Prior to joining Priority Marketing, he most recently served as the public relations manager for Miromar Development Corporation.

Before moving to Southwest Florida, he also was a journalist for the Anderson Independent-Mail, a local newspaper in Upstate South Carolina.

10th Annual Bert's Redfish Challenge on Oct. 13 to benefit island family

The 10th Annual Bert's Redfish Challenge is slated for Saturday, Oct. 13. The event will be held at Bert's Bar and Seafood Grill in Matlacha.

This year Bert's has partnered with the If I Can Dream Foundation to raise money for Shannon Ness Jackson. Shannon is a local single mom battling stage 4 breast cancer that has metastasized to her spine.

Money raised during this year's Bert's Redfish Challenge will help Shannon and her two teenage daughters, Briana, 17, and Aaliyah,15.

Event organizers will be visiting local businesses asking for donations to be auctioned and raffled following the fishing tournament. They are also seeking local businesses to support the event through sponsorships, which range from $250 to $5,000.

Last year the tournament had 35 teams with over 120 anglers participating and an estimated 150 spectators.
