North High football team receives Tommy Bohanon Foundation grant

The Tommy Bohanon Foundation, founded by current Jacksonville Jaguars fullback Tommy Bohanon and his wife, Katie, has awarded the North Fort Myers High School varsity football team a nearly $3,500 equipment grant, which ensures every player on the varsity team has new cleats for the 2018 season.

The Bohanons both graduated from North Fort Myers and they recently hosted the 2018 Tommy Bohanon Youth Football Camp at North Fort Myers High in June.

"Because of my success with football, I am honored to be able to do what I truly enjoy and that is giving back to the community that has had such a large impact on mine and Katie's lives," Bohanon said. "What's even better is that I can do so by giving back to my high school football program, as I remember during my time there, coaches often helped their players by purchasing the equipment they needed."

The Tommy Bohanon Foundation, founded in 2017, has been building the organization to achieve its mission to support young athletes to reach their highest potential on and off the playing field. The goal of the equipment grant is to relieve financial burdens on not only athletes but also on athletic programs.

The Tommy Bohanon Foun-dation will be awarding equipment grants throughout the year as well as scholarships through the Tommy Bohanon Scholarship Fund.

The Tommy Bohanon Foun-dation is dedicated to supporting young athletes to reach their highest potential on and off the playing field. Tommy and his wife Katie, both native to Lee County, are developing the Tommy Bohanon Foundation in order to grant both scholarships and funds for equipment to young athletes in need.
