Contractors Flooring Outlet has you covered

Finding the right flooring for your home can be a daunting task. Do you go with carpeting, laminates or tile? What will it cost? Is it going to last?

Florida Floors, a division of Contractors Flooring Outlet (they answer by both names), at 18251 N. Tamiami Trail just north of Del Prado, is there to help make that decision a little simpler.

Contractors Flooring Outlet opened in 2011. John Stahl, who had a piece in the company from almost the beginning, bought it out in 2015. With 30 years in the business he can tell you almost everything there is to know about flooring.

John Stahl, owner of Florida Floors, a division of Contractors Flooring Outlet, at 18251 N. Tamiami Trail, just north of the Del Prado extension in North Fort Myers.

Stahl, who owned a flooring place in Pennsylvania for years before coming to Florida in 2009 to retire (which didn't quite work out), welcomes contractors and the public and offers professional installation throughout the area.

As an installer, Stahl stands by his work and offers only the highest quality merchandise. Major brands of carpeting, laminate, hardwood, vinyl and ceramic tiles can be had for a fair price, with a warranty.

Stahl makes sure the job is done right, if not perfectly, so that if there is an issue, an adjuster will approve the claim.

"Nobody is installing anything properly anymore except for a few guys like me. We insist that carpeting be power stretched. If they don't see the power stretcher out, call me," Stahl said. "If it's not power stretched, there's no warranty. We do everything by the book."

This commitment has resulted in Florida Floors earning a "Best of North Fort Myers" designation the past two years.

The flooring comes in numerous styles and colors to best suit your tastes and needs. About the only thing they don't do is wood, which Stahl said is not a good idea.

"Wood will warp or cup if not cured properly. There are problems with moisture down here that you don't have anywhere else. We're in the Everglades. Everywhere south of Punta Gorda is," Stahl said.

Flooring starts at 22 cents per square foot, and they have a special where they will install three 9x12 rooms of carpeting in stock for as low as $399. Florida Floors also offers six months no interest or up to 60 months with interest on most floors.

There are plans for expansion in the future. Stahl said he is looking for a location in the South Cape or on Metro Parkway.

Florida Floors is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
