Arrest made in school threat

April 30, 2018
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

Oasis High School freshman Nathaniel Gallini, 15, has been arrested on felony charges in connection with an online threat against a Cape Coral elementary school.

The Cape Coral Police Department boosted its presence on the Oasis school campuses this morning after the agency received out-of-state information regarding a threat made against Oasis Charter Elementary School, made during a chat session of an online video game.

"Extra officers in addition to the School Resource Officers were immediately dispatched to the school for extra presence and as a precautionary measure," a release issued by the CCPD states. "Detectives worked to determine the origin, specificity, and credibility of the threat, and before the school day was over they had identified an Oasis High School freshman student as the one who made the threat. That student has been arrested; more information will be released when available. There are no known, credible dangers to the schools at this time."

Saying "the Cape Coral Police Department takes all threats against schools seriously," CCPD officers remained on campus for the duration of the school day until all students were dismissed.
