Island Coast senior Riley Hare (22) gave up only one earned run and scored three runs on offense during the Gators’ 14-6 win against Cape Coral in Monday night’s district playoff opener. To view more photos from the game, see our Facebook page.

Mariner 16, Cypress Lake 0 (3): Hannah Holloway pitched three perfect innings, striking out six. Alayna Martin, Kennedy Burnham, Yasmine Halaby and Holloway had two hits each for the second-seeded Tritons, who advance to face Island Coast in the semifinals Wednesday at Mariner.

Island Coast 14, Cape Coral 6: The Gators picked up their first district tournament victory, scoring eight runs in the last two innings to rally past Cape Coral. Natalie Sibert, Jenna Swift and Kamryn Huston drove in three runs each. Sibert (who homered), Swift and Riley Hare each scored three times. Hare allowed six runs, but only one earned, on five hits and no walks.

Port Charlotte 9, Ida Baker 1: The Pirates held Ida Baker to three hits. Port Charlotte plays at tournament top seed North Fort Myers in Wednesday's semifinals. Andrea Pena had an RBI for the Bulldogs.

District 4A-5 tournament

Oasis 15, Gateway Charter 0: The Sharks advance to play tournament host Bishop Verot in Wednesday's district championship game.

Baseball

St. John Neumann 6 Oasis 2: The Sharks were held to three hits - two by Lewis Evans, who also drove in a run. Oasis committed four errors. Losing pitcher Dennis Talarico (6-3) allowed five runs (only one earned) in four innings. The Sharks (13-8) play Marco Island Academy on Friday at the Cape Coral Sports Complex.

Charlotte 6, Mariner 2: The Tritons slipped to 11-12 on the season. Barron Northorp and Alex Freeland drove in the Tritons' runs. Jimmy Meredith was 2-for-3 and scored a run. Mariner plays at Evangelical Christian on Tuesday in Fort Myers.

Island Coast 4, Riverdale 1: Kasey Ross homered and drove in two runs for the Gators (15-7), and Chase Chatman and Julio Castro each had an RBI. Josh Morales went the distance on the mound, holding Riverdale to a run on five hits and one walk. He struck out three. Island Coast is home Thursday against North Port.

Friday

Softball

North Port 4, Mariner 2: Hannah Holloway was 2-for-3, tripled, homered and drove in two for the Tritons (16-8). Holloway was the losing pitcher, although two of the four runs she allowed were unearned. Mariner is home against Cypress Lake on Monday in the first round of the District 6A-11 tournament.

Bishop Verot 3, Riverdale 2: Sammie Massaro drove in the winning run for the Vikings (13-9) in the bottom of the seventh inning, completing a two-run rally. Trinity Vallee pitched two hitless innings to pick up the win in relief.

Baseball

Island Coast 6, Cypress Lake 0: Island Coast finished District 6A-11 play at 9-3, tied for first with Cape Coral. The Gators (14-6 overall) travel to Lakeland for a game Saturday.

Port Charlotte 6, Ida Baker 5: The Bulldogs slipped to 11-1, 4-7 in District 6A-11 with the loss. It was Port Charlotte's only district victory this season. Ida Baker is home against Fort Myers on Tuesday.

Bishop Verot 7, Miami Florida Christian 5: Evan Ames had two hits and drove in two runs for the Vikings (10-12). Tom Rizzo was the winning pitcher and Cam Hoines earned a save. Bishop Verot faces Seacrest Country Day on Wednesday at home.

Mariner 3, LaBelle 0: Donnie Goodman pitched six shutout innings and Louis Alberro earned the save as the Tritons (11-11). Jimmy Meredith was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Barron Northorp 2-for-3 with an RBI, Gavin Walker scored a run and drove one in, and Alex Freeland was 2-fo-4.

Lemon Bay 4, North Fort Myers 1: The Red Knights (8-13) play Tuesday at Charlotte.

Thursday

Baseball

Sarasota Cardinal Mooney 7, Oasis 3: Cardinal Mooney (14-8, 6-2) finished tied atop District 4A-5 with Bishop Verot. Trey Siciliano was 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Sharks (13-7, 4-4), while Nick Oliveira and Weston Wilson drove in runs for Oasis. The Sharks play at St. John Neumann on Monday.

Lely 8, North Fort Myers 2: The Red Knights (8-12) are home against Lemon Bay today.

Gulf Coast 2, Bishop Verot 1: Andrew Pflieger knocked in a run for the Vikings (9-12). Bishop Verot is at Miami Florida Christian on Friday.

Softball

North Fort Myers 13, Gulf Coast 4: Sarah Giompalo had two hits and drove in four runs for the Red Knights (20-5), while Natavia Ellis went 2-for-2, scored four times and had three RBI. Haley Weaver was 4-for-4 and scored three runs. Sydney Morris was the winning pitcher for North Fort Myers.
