Cheaper electricity? An update from the city, please

March 29, 2018
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

To the editor:

Cape Coral, where did our money go?

In 2015-2016 Cape Coral began to investigate the possibility of no longer using LCEC for electric service in Cape Coral. They spent $49,000 on a study and about $177,000 on attorney fees. Prior to the study, it was determined by the city that there could be electric that would cost local residents much less. I have not seen any results or additional information about the study results more current than 2016.

Did I miss it? Looking for a response that will update the homeowners on the status of this project as it stands in 2018.
