Vincennes ousts FSW men, 76-68, in NJCAA National Tournament

Buccaneers end banner season with 30-3 mark

HUTCHINSON, Kansas The 2017-18 season came to an end for the No. 6 seed FSW men's basketball team as they fell to third-seeded Vincennes, 76-68, in the quarterfinal round of 2018 NJCAA National Tournament on Thursday night.

With the loss, the Buccaneers end the 2017-18 campaign with a 30-3 overall record. The FSW sophomore class, that took a chance and bought in to a new athletic program, compiled a 56-10 overall record in their two seasons in the Purple and Aqua.

Freshman Charles Manning Jr. finished with a team-high 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field, 1-of-1 from long distance and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe. Manning Jr. also added two assists and a steal.

Sophomore ShanQuan Hemphill chipped in with 15 points and six boards, while sophomore Tyler Cheese added 14 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore Tremell Murphy finished with nine points and three boards and sophomore Anthony Murphy tallied seven points, three boards and a pair of assists.
