Cape Coral Daily Breeze



Oasis 3, South Fort Myers 2: Justin Brooks went the distance for the Sharks, allowing one earned run on three hits while striking out nine. Stephen Siciliano was 2-for-2 including a two-RBI single. Nick Oliveira doubled and scored twice. Oasis (8-3) is off until March 28 against East Lee County.

Mariner 8, Estero 4: Gavin Walker drove in three runs with a two-hit night and Nick Locasio had two hits and two RBI for the Tritons (2-7). Xzavien Torres earned the win on the mound, working 3 1/3 innings of relief. Jaylen Youngs and Wade Williamson also drove in runs for Mariner. Williamson stole two bases. Estero is 4-9.

North Fort Myers 15, Island Coast 0 (3): Emma Johnson and Sydney Morris held Island Coast to one hit, with Johnson getting the victory. Johnson also was 2-for-2 at the plate, including a triple, and drove in two runs. Sarah Giompalo also was 2-for-2, and both Natavia Ellis and Sajarie Jones were 2-for-3. The Red Knights are 11-1, 8-0 in District 6A-11. Island Coast is 4-9, 2-5.



Cape Coral 11, Ida Baker 1 (6): Avery Mytnik was the winning pitcher for Cape (7-4, 3-3 District 6A-11) with seven strikeouts. Mytnik was also 3-for-4 with a triple. Rachel Manes was 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored; Tara Striggow was 3-for-3 with a triple, a double and 2 RBI; Jesse Bachman was 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored and an RBI; Molly French-McShea was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI, and Peyton Helton was 2-for-4 with a triple, a run and RBI.

Mariner 17, Cypress Lake 2: Alayna Martin and Hannah Holloway had four hits each for Mariner (9-5, 5-1 District 6A-11). Holloway also struck out seven Cypress Lake (1-9, 0-5) batters.

Oasis 4, Imagine School 3: Dennis Talarico (4-0) got the win, going 5 2/3 innings, allowing two hits and one earned run with six strikeouts. Justin Brooks finished for a save. Catcher Peyton Palmer threw out a runner at third to end the game. Lewis Evans was 2-for-3 with an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases; Stephen Siciliano was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored; and Jake Hadden had two RBI. With the win, Oasis is 7-3, 3-1 District 4A-5.

Ida Baker 16, Cape Coral 5: Alex Rios had two hits, three walks and scored four times for the Bulldogs, while Mac Moise also scored four runs with a hit, a walk and hit by three pitches. Paul Martin drove in five runs with two hits; Trey Koza had two hits, two RBI and scored a run; Tony Rios had two RBI; and Nick Richir added an RBI. Spencer Roach drove in three runs for the Seahawks, Matthew McDade had two hits and Andrew Jaffarian scored twice. Ida Baker improved to 5-5, 2-2 in District 6A-11 while dropping Cape Coral to 9-2, 5-2.

Cypress Lake 4, Mariner 3: Alex Freeland hit a three-run homer for the Tritons, and Xzavien Torres and Donnie Goodman had two hits each. Mariner fell to 1-7, 0-6 District 6A-11, while Cypress Lake improved to 8-3, 4-0.
