Cape Coral Daily Breeze

Four players scored in double figures to lead the No. 17 FSW women's basketball team to a 99-75 win over St. Petersburg College on Wednesday night.

With the win, the Bucs improve to 21-4 overall and 4-0 in Suncoast Conference play, while the Titans fall to 12-12 on the year (1-3 Suncoast Conference).

Freshman Tina Stephens led the Bucs with a game-high 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the floor and 5-of-6 from the free-throw line. Stephens also added six rebounds and a pair of steals.

Sophomore Erna Normil shot 8-of-16 from the field, 4-of-9 from long distance and 2-of-4 from the charity stripe to finish with 22 points. Sophomore LaToya Ashman chipped in with 12 points, 5 assists and three boards, while sophomore Amanda Oliver recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Sophomore point guards Sadie Desroches and Kiara Meeks did a great job of distributing the basketball, registering nine assists and eight assists, respectively.

The Bucs are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 3, when they host Hillsborough CC in the first game of a doubleheader with the FSW men's team. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
