Co-authors to hold book signing at Wellness Center Cape Coral

Co-authors Scott Kashman and Joan Odorizzi will hold a book signing event Dec. 1 for their new book, "Mindful Healthcare: Healthy Team, Healthy Business." The book signing event will be held 8:30-10 a.m. at the Wellness Center Cape Coral, located at 609 S.E. 13th Court, on the campus of Cape Coral Hospital.

Kashman is Lee Health's Chief Acute Care Officer, and Odorizzi formerly worked as Cape Coral Hospital's Healing Environment Business Partner.

A Lee Health project, "Mindful Healthcare: Healthy Team, Healthy Business" is a guide to organizational wellness and better business outcomes, offering a bold new paradigm for medical care. According to the authors, every successful medical organization should be an optimal healing environment. This holistic, person-centered approach to the business of medicine focuses on empowering the hospital and health system's working community.

The book was released in early November on All proceeds from sales of the book will benefit Lee Health Foundation's Community Wellness fund.

Harbour View Gallery's next artists reception Dec. 5

Harbour View Gallery's will hold a reception Tuesday, Dec. 5, from 6-8 p.m., for its featured artists for the month of December - Lynne Rae Eaton, fused glass artist, and James Beech, watercolor artist.

Their work will be on display through December.

The gallery is located at 5789 Cape Harbour Drive, Suite 104. In the Shops at Cape Harbour, Cape Coral.

Sophisticated Seconds

opens in Olde Fort Myers

Sophisticated Seconds, a consignment and upscale furniture shop, has opened at 1773 Second St., in the Gardeners Park District in Olde Fort Myers.

The historical building was part of the original "fort" of Fort Myers, according to owner Jennifer Jahn.

Sophisticated Seconds, which officially opened its doors Oct. 21, specializes in up-cycled furniture and home accessories at affordable prices.

Jahn invites shoppers to stop by and look around, sit under the huge banyan tree on the property and enjoy a cup of coffee.

Hours at the shop are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. For information, call 239-245-8065.

Sheriff's Office join forces with Chick-fil-A for toy drive

Chick-fil-A in partnership with the Lee County Sheriff's Office, Lee County Sheriff's Youth Activities League and Collier County Sheriff's Office have begun a toy drive for youngsters in Lee and Collier counties.

The project continues through Dec. 16 and five locations in Lee County will accept toy donations. Lee County deputies will hand out the toys as a part of their annual gift distributions to needy families at Christmas.

Those who wish to donate new toys are welcome to drop them off at any of these Chick-fil-A locations:
