Former University of Florida and NFL quarterback Tim Tebow had a hand in rallying the St. Lucie Mets to a 7-3 victory over the Fort Myers Miracle Monday at Hammond Stadium.

Trailing 3-0, Mets Jhoan Urena and Peter Alonso cracked back-to-back home runs to tie the game in the sixth inning. Tebow doubled down the right field line and scored on Jose Garcia's single up the middle.

Tebow struck again with a run-scoring single of the end of his broken bat that provided the final margin.

The Miracle (17-6, 50-41) claimed the early lead by scoring runs in the second, third and fifth innings. Zander Wiel provided a double along with two walks and a run while Nelson Molina drove in the other two runs. Jermaine Palacios also collected a single in his first four at-bats.

After five scoreless innings by Miracle starter Keaton Steele and Williams Ramirez, Michael Theofanopoulos (4-2) came on for the sixth. With two outs, the rally started with a walk to Patrick Mazeika. Urena then belted a 3-1 pitch around the left field foul pole followed by Alonso's blast.

Kevin Canelon (3-2) struck out four over three innings of relief for the Mets (9-15) to earn the win and Alex Palsha fired three scoreless frames to follow.
