The Fort Myers Miracle captured their fifth straight win Thursday night by topping off the current homestand by sweeping the Charlotte Stone Crabs at Hammond Stadium.

The Miracle (32-33) crept closer to the .500 mark with their second doubleheader sweep in two nights with 3-2 and 3-1 wins Thursday. The doubleheaders were made necessary when rain postponed the first two games of the four-game series on Monday and Tuesday.

Thursday's games got a late start because of more rain with the Miracle needing two extra innings to win the opener in walk-off fashion.

Trailing 2-0, the Miracle fought back with a run in the fourth inning on a wild pitch. Sean Miller tied the game in the sixth with a slap single to right on an 0-2 count.

Bradley Strong led off the ninth with a single, took second on Brian Navarreto's bunt and went to third on Max Murphy's fly out. Alex Perez beat out a ground ball to first that was misplayed for an error allowing Strong to score the winning run.

It was a much smoother win in game 2 as the Miracle built a 3-0 lead into the last inning. Cody Stashak (2-3) got the win in his first start returning from the disabled list, allowing just three hits with five strikeouts. He set down the last 11 batters in order.
