Another example of wasteful spending

June 16, 2017
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

To the editor:

Thank you for your editorial and article in last week's Cape Coral Breeze concerning the "Negotiations to begin anew with co-op." I do hope it will open many of the residents' eyes to the fact that the city has spent and wasted over a million dollars negotiating with LCEC and trying to find out if the city could purchase LCEC, something that no one in the city wanted.

The City Council should never have allowed this to happen. Instead, they just sat there and acted like a bunch of "bobbleheads" and allowed this to go on for over a year. Shame on the entire Council and mayor.

It is now time to get serious and start looking for a new city manager; the city of Cape Coral cannot afford this kind of wasteful spending to continue.

Just maybe we should wait until after the election to get a new manager, in the hopes we will get some new council persons with at least some knowledge of financial responsibility and who will work with the city's best interest and the residents' wallets.
