Architectural Metal Flashings opens in Cape Coral

Architectural Metal Flashings has opened at 2659 N.E. 9th Ave., in Cape Coral. The company produces metal panels, metal panel accessories, standard metal flashings, custom metal flashings and ductwork to the building supply industry, roofing industry, general contractors and subcontractors who require specialty building products.

Long-time roofing and materials consultant Jeffrey Bonk is AMF's founder. Having worked for decades with engineers, architects and contractors, he determined the need in the local marketplace for sheet metal fabricators that could offer enhanced technical precision, fulfill orders in a timely fashion and emphasize personalized service.

Company officials have reported that AMF has undertaken arduous testing of its metal roofing panels for high wind velocity and negative pressure resistance. AMF has also pursued extreme-condition testing of components like its vents and eave risers, which are fabricated to eliminate water intrusion and withstand strong uplift conditions.

Various suppliers and contractors have toured AMF's state-of-the art, 12,000-square-foot facility.

Lee County non-profit receives a face lift from Lennar Corporation

Mid-December found Lennar Homes busy playing Santa's helpers as they sent their workers to perform much-needed repairs at a specially selected facility the non-profit organization, LARC Inc., in Fort Myers.

Every year, Lennar, a leading, award-winning homebuilder, identifies a person or organization in need of building repairs. Then, it steps in to perform its magic with a donation of goods and services by its quality craftsmen.

This year, LARC Inc., in operation since 1954, was the chosen recipient. The organization serves developmentally disabled persons. LARC provides specialized training to clients to achieve optimal daily living skills and employment support.

Lennar workers did an exterior facelift that included pressure washing and painting. They replaced the entryway ceiling soffit and re-set and re-cemented a railing on the handicapped ramp.

In the interior, after drywall preparation, paint was applied for a clean new look and two restroom doors were enlarged to make them fully handicapped accessible. Lennar also donated a new, stainless steel refrigerator and a washer and dryer and then also sent in a cleaning crew to make things shine.

Lennar then arranged for a special delivery of three new couches from City Furniture.

The renovated building at the Fort Myers campus provides care for those in need of daily living skills and social training and support, providing integration, inclusion and social skill development for the most disabled clients.
