Morrone's Pizzeria opens in North Fort Myers

Morrone's Pizzeria LLC has opened at 5660 Bayshore Road, in the Foxmoor Shopping Center, in North Fort Myers.

The pizzeria and restaurant offers a variety of items, including thin crust New York pizza, Philly cheesesteaks, ravioli, spaghetti and baby mussels or spaghetti and clams, Osso Buco ("our signature dinner"), sandwiches, salads, stromboli and Italian hoagies.

According to owner Michael A. Morrone, the pizzeria/restaurant makes its own bread and pizza dough daily with lunch specials.

The restaurant also does catering and has seating for 20.

Morrone's Pizzeria is open Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

'Changing States: Krieger, Riner & Weber' exhibition opens Jan. 6 at Alliance

The Alliance for the Arts January exhibition "Changing States: Krieger, Riner & Weber" opens Friday. Jan. 6, from 5-7 p.m., at 10091 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers. The exhibit continues until Jan. 28. Meet featured artists Jim Krieger, Kimberly Riner and Dale Weber during a conversational Walk & Talk as they discuss their works in this exhibition on Jan. 7 at 10 a.m.

During this exhibition, A.J. Weber will be on display in the Member Gallery and "Broadsides: Poetry Off the Self" will be exhibited in the Theatre Gallery.

"Changing States: Krieger, Riner & Weber" incorporates various materials shaped by industry or nature. This show will feature pieces which have been repurposed to embrace concepts of symbolic imagery, grief, awareness and change.

The Alliance for the Arts is a nonprofit community arts and cultural center located in the heart of Fort Myers. For over 40 years, the Alliance has been charged with the mission to facilitate and nurture the creation, development, promotion and education of arts and culture in southwest Florida. The Alliance campus and galleries, at 10091 McGregor Blvd., just south of Colonial Boulevard in Fort Myers, are open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
