Crist, Rich campaign ahead of Tuesday's primary

MIAMI (AP) — It may have taken a while, but it finally feels like there's a Democratic primary for governor.

Former Republican Gov. Charlie Crist, now seeking his old job as a Democrat, is spending the weekend campaigning in the Democratic base of South Florida. He's seeking to drive up support for Tuesday's primary.

Meanwhile, former Senate Democratic Leader Nan Rich took a final swing through the I-4 corridor in her underdog campaign against the better-known and better-funded Crist.

Both candidates are planning to visit South Florida churches on Sunday.

Ever since getting in the race last November, Crist has ignored Rich and focused his campaign on Republican Gov. Rick Scott. But he also can't let a close showing by Rich leave questions about whether Democrats are solidly behind him.
