ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — University of Central Florida police say a student suffered a head injury during an armed robbery at his off-campus apartment.

The incident happened early Friday near Alafaya Trail at the Kinghts Circle apartment complex in Orlando.

Broadcast stations in Orlando are reporting that a gunman forced his way into the home around 2 a.m. and robbed the student. The student told university police that he didn't know the suspect. The complex is affiliated with the university.

Students, faculty and staff were notified of the incident through the UCF Alert notification system.
