In memoriam

June 8, 2016
Cape Coral Daily Breeze

Mariner High School graduation included a somber moment as school officials, students and family members paused to remember a student who could not be there.

Tamesha Edwards, the mother of Mariner High School student Irving Edwards who died from a gunshot wound in Fort Myers last week, leaned on principal Dr. Robert Butz after receiving her son's diploma during Saturday's graduation ceremony.

A memorial was set up on the chair Irving would have occupied during the commencement.
