Deputies: Boy shot while riding bicycle in Cocoa

COCOA, Fla. (AP) — Deputies say a 12-year-old boy is recovering after being shot while riding his bicycle in Cocoa.

Orlando television station WESH ( ) reports deputies believe the child was targeted in the Thursday afternoon shooting, but they didn't say why they believe so. The child was reported to be in stable condition.

Witnesses told deputies the suspects fled in a red Chrysler 300.

No further details were immediately available. An investigation continues.
