* MOAA

William Zacovic, LTC, US Army (Ret), will be the speaker at the regular monthly meeting of the Calusa Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America on Saturday, Jan. 9. The 9 a.m. meeting will be held at Gulf Coast Village, 1333 Santa Barbara, Cape Coral. All military officers and spouses are invited to attend. Zacovic will speak about the current status and issues facing the JROTC in Lee County.

The cost for the buffet breakfast is $10, payable at the door. Reservations are requested and may be made by contacting Dixie Buick, 945-5030, or calusamoaa@yahoo.com.

The Military Officers Association of America is a national organization representing the interests of the military. Florida is the third largest state of membership.

* Motor Club fundraiser

The SanCap Motor Club is hosting a fundraiser for the Sanibel Community House Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Sanibel Community House and neighboring city park, 2173 Periwinkle Way. The event will include a car show of 100 vintage, luxury, performance and special interest autos, an auction featuring select automobiles, boats and cycles, musical entertainment, a silent auction and auto related museum. It will also include a beer, wine and food garden.

* The Christian Women's Connection

The Christian Women's Connection of Cape Coral invites all women to its "Winter Gardening" Breakfast Buffet Monday, Jan. 11, at the Palmetto Pine Country Club at 1940 S.E. 9th Court in Cape Coral The breakfast is from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and the cost is $17, inclusive.

Donna Sember will be the inspirational speaker. Her theme is "Giving Your Life the Best Rating."

Mayer Berg from Riverland Nursery will provide tips on how to create a landscape that reflects the beauty of Florida's tropical climate during the winter.

Guests will also be entertained with the music of singers Angel and Brad Dobson.
