* Cape Coral Technical College open house Jan. 9

Cape Coral Technical College will host an open house event Saturday, Jan. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., showcasing Cape Coral Technical College's business, technical, health and culinary occupation education programs for students interested in enrolling for the upcoming semester. The open house event will also feature a car show, food and bounce houses for children. Enrollment is currently available for the new semester, which will begin Jan. 26.

In honor of New Year's, the theme of the open house is "Education Resolution," encouraging students to change their lives for the better in 2016 by enrolling in one of Cape Coral Technical College's many programs dedicated to preparing students for future careers in the health, business, hospitality and technology industries. Current students at Cape Coral Technical College will be participating in the open house through demonstrations, providing services and samples and interacting with visitors.

* Winter Arts Camp

Time is running out to register your child for Winter Arts Camp at the Alliance for the Arts. The four-day camp is presented by Florida Repertory Theatre at the Alliance. Kids ages 5-17 spend their days acting, singing, dancing and creating during the highly interactive camp that runs Dec. 28-31. This year's theme is Musical Theatre Adventures, a holiday workshop exploring the magic of musicals through the family friendly classic The Polar Express! Led by professional instructors, students will discover the best of musical theatre, and integrate drama, dance, music and art into their final product, an informal presentation showcasing the many things they learned during camp.

The four-day session is $175. Camp runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., with aftercare available until 5 p.m. for $5 per day. Call 239-332-4665 or go to for more information, or to register online now.

* Learning for Life

Learning for Life will present its sixth annual Learning for Life Got talent on Feb. 13 from 4 6:30 p.m. at South Fort Myers High School 14020 Plantation Road, Fort Myers. The show is designed to showcase the talents of students in the community while serving as a fundraiser for the Learning for Life Program. The LFL program provide engaging and relevant PreK-12 solutions that positively impact academic performance, social & emotional maturity, character development, and career education for all students. Learning for Life is currently seeking sponsors for the show. Anyone interested in learning more about sponsorships can contact Tina Pegler Director, at 239 -936-8072. Registration is $5 for each entry ($50 maximum for groups of 10). The Deadline for registration is Jan. 14. There will be a $5 admission charge to the talent show and vendors are invited to set up for a nominal fee of $25. All proceeds from sponsorships, vendors and ticket sales benefit the learning for Life program.
