* Two Lee County schools will be among those honored at the 2016 Florida Music Educator Association Awards Breakfast. North Fort Myers Academy for the Arts and North Fort Myers High School are recipients of the 2016 Music Enrollment Award.

Only 21 schools from 14 counties across Florida will be recognized with this award.

The awards breakfast will be held at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa on Jan. 15.

North Fort Myers Academy for the Arts has 72 percent of its students enrolled in a music program while North Fort Myers High School has 36 percent.

"Music is such an integral part of our student's education," said Dr. Douglas Santini, principal, North Fort Myers Academy for the Arts, in a prepared statement "We believe that without having music our students would not be as successful as they are. It makes them whole."

* Wellington Academy recognized

Wellington Academy LLC has been awarded accreditation from the National Accreditation Commission for Early Care and Education Programs

The accreditation process included a self-study process in which administrators, staff, and parents evaluated the program in accordance with Accreditation Standards. After the self-study process was complete, an onsite observation was conducted at Wellington Academy LLC by an early childhood professional. Based on the information collected, Wellington Academy was awarded accreditation through the National Accreditation Commission for Early Care and Education.
