Upcoming candidates forums for Cape Coral City Council candidates

* Civic Association forum

The Cape Coral Civic Association will hold its Candidate's "Survivor's Night" forum Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m., in the Yacht Club Ballroom at 5819 Driftwood Parkway in Cape Coral.

Doors open to the public at 6 p.m. Candidates from Districts 2, 3 and 7 running for Cape Coral City Council will be in attendance.

* Chamber forum

The Cape?Coral Chamber of Commerce will hold a Are You Smarter Than A Politician? Candidates Forum on Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The forum will be at the Gulf Coast Village Retirement Community at 1333 Santa Barbara Blvd. in Cape Coral.

The event is free and open to the public.


* Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife

Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife will hold a Candidates Forum for those seeking election to the Cape Coral City Council. It will be held Tuesday, Oct. 13, 7 p.m., Rotary Park Environmental Center, 5505 Rose Garden Road, Cape Coral. The election is Nov. 3.

Candidates are -- District 2: John Carioscia and Kirk LaGrasta; District 3: Chris Cammarota and Marilyn Stout; District 7: Timothy W. Barrier and Jessica Cosden. CCFW members and the public are invited to attend and question the candidates.


* City of Cape Coral debate

The City of Cape Coral and CapeTV 98 will be hosting one candidate debate for the general election, Thursday, Oct. 22, beginning at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers in City Hall. The debate will last 90 minutes.

The debate will be moderated by Jeff Koehn ( Questions will be posed by Valarie Harring (Cape Coral Breeze) and Tom Hayden (Fort Myers News-Press).

The debate will be broadcast live on CapeTV, the City's government channel (Channel 98), and via live videostream on the City's website and DaCast outlet ( The debates will be taped for replay on CapeTV during the two weeks leading up to the election. These videos also will be posted for viewing on the city's website,
